The black PVC bag holds up to 5 gallons (20 liters) of water and absorbs heat from direct sunlight. Heating time varies with weather, season, starting water temperature, and sunlight intensity; the manufacturer lists approximately 3–5 hours under suitable conditions.
A flexible hose and removable shower head provide water delivery, with an on/off switch for controlling the flow. The kit also includes a rigid balance pipe and hanging rope with hook for setting up the bag at camp.
